Potatoes

Here are our purple potatoes from our school garden. They tasted really yummy.

Samoa Fund Raising Day

At Motueka school we had a "Wacky Hair Day" to raise funds for the victims of the Samoan Tsunami. We all gave a gold donation, in total we raised $410.00. The school donated a further $200.00. With this we bought school supplies which were sent over in a container with other good donated by the Motueka Community.
In the Tsunami 26 members of the Siaki family lost their lives.
We gathered as a school outside our classroom and paraded around so that everyone could see the effort others put into their "Wacky" hair styles.

Welcome back to term 4

We have all arrived back at school ready for another really busy term. This term we have camp for year five students, Reading plays with room 5, making recycled garden lanterns, school gala, Jump rope, swimming, T-ball, Touch rugby, growing sunflower seeds in our recycled paper pots, painting our plastic recycled pigs,Sleep over for year 4 students,Class assembly presentation,Making ginger beer.

This is a copy of Angus's volcano that was created using the paint programme. The reason why Angus created this picture is so he can possibly use it for his calender art this year. Everone else in room 6 were given the opportunity to create their own pictures.

Room6 students have been busy turning home waste into something useful.We have turned used egg cartons into biodegradable plant pots. Our aim is to grow sunflower seeds in them and plant them out around our school garden.

Gymnastics Day

Last Friday we all went to ther Motueka Recreation Centre for the day, where we got to show off our gymnastic abilities. It was a great day and we all felt very proud of what we had accomplished. We are all gymnastic stars!!!
