Our Cooking Creations!

Today Room 6 are baking a cake and blueberry muffins. We all decided what cooking group we would like to be in and how we could work together to make our food. We set out all the ingredients and equipment we needed and then we all washed our hands. After that we got into our groups and started baking! We all had a go at measuring out the ingredients, reading the recipe, and stirring the mixture. One group was in charge of taking photos. The cake group didn't read their recipe properly and didn't put enough of each ingredient into their mixture. Mrs Simkin had to come and help them measure again! Once our mixtures were ready we had to put them into the muffin tins and a cake tin. We cooked our muffins first and they look delicious. Our cake is in the oven now and is going to take an hour and a half to cook! We are going to eat our muffins and cake at lunch time. We are also going to make fruit smoothies.

Room 6's "food Recycling" job

Everyday room 6 students take turns to put out the green reycling bins, so that at lunch time all food scraps can be collected for our compost bin. We are making compost for our school garden. The compost will help our plants grow. When you next visit our school please come and have a look at our garden.

Gymnastics Update!

We have been busy in Room 6 this term. We have been practising our gymnastics skills. We are going to a gymnastics festival at the Rec Centre. Different schools from around the district will be there. We are learning to do hand stands against the wall. In groups we have been trying out different pyramid structures! We have been learning other things like; the vault, dance routines, floor routines, beam and a skipping routine. Some of us are finding it quite hard to remember all the routines! Sometimes it is hard to flip your legs up into a hand stand. We all love different things about gymnastics. We are really looking forward to going to the gymnastics festival.
